Basic Skill: Knowing The Difference Between Cement And Concrete.

For the ordinary folk, cement and concrete are the same. They are used for the construction of buildings and other infrastructures where material strength is required. But are they the same? Some people confuse one with the other, so it’s only fitting to explain the difference between the two.

Cement is a general term for any type of binder that holds materials together. On the other hand, concrete is a combination of materials like gravel, sand, or small rocks that are then mixed with water and any cement type. The mixture is allowed to dry for it to harden.

After the drying and hardening process, concrete basically becomes a stone-like material because of the binding features of the cement which was mixed in. No one knows exactly when cement was first discovered and used, but man has been using it for more than a thousand years.
