I’m gonna try that
You didn’t show how and where the ramp is attached.
It’s not attached. Just lean a scrap of wood against the bucket so the mice can climb up.
I use a 5 gal. bucket with a hand ful of corn kernals. No ramp, no wire , no nothing. Don’t ask me how, but mice will get in but can’t get out.
That is the way Pioneers used to catch mice and it works I have use it.
We made one of these last year, left it in the kitchen over night and caught 9 mice it was ridiculous! But helpful.
My grandfather used ½ of a wooden yard stick and a simple wire hinge on the buck lip. The outer end of the yard stick was slightly longer so that it would return to the static position when the rodent fell into the bucket. He also baited with peanut butter.
Did this by accident last year, left 5 gallon bucket with some water in the bottom , its hot and dry in California, they went for the water, and drowned I found it about 3 weeks later , rotten floating mice …. check it every few days is my recommendation!
