PVC is one of the most commonly used materials in home piping systems. It’s easier to work with and, considerably more durable, and cheaper than metal pipes. Learning how to work with PVC can be a good start if you are into DIY fixes and home projects. You just need to know the basics.
One of the most common issues is when you have to reuse PVC fittings that have already been glued together. One scenario is when you have glued the fittings, took a quick break, and realize you made a mistake. Since the PVC material has not hardened, you just need to use a couple of pipe wrenches and twist off the connection.
But what if it has been a whole day before you realized your mistake. This can be a difficult scenario since the solvent has done its work. The PVC fittings have completely hardened, so twisting will not help and may even damage the pipes. Luckily, there is still a way to reuse the glued fittings by following the steps in this video.
