What’s paracord? It’s short for “parachute cord”, and is a lightweight but strong rope made of nylon. It was used for parachutes in WWII. It’s a fairly smooth cord and slightly elastic, making it very versatile for all kinds of applications. First sold as military surplus after WWII, paracord is now available in recreational stores and hobby stores, and online.
