[Video] Increase Your Gas Mileage In Two Minutes Using A Little Bit Of Cleaning Agent!
Gas prices can be unstable; you never know when they may go back up. This video will show you how to increase your car’s gas mileage in two minutes using a little bit of cleaning agent.
The amount of gas that gets pumped into your engine is controlled by something called a mass air flow sensor. By cleaning this sensor monthly you can be sure that it is performing accurately and not making your car pump too much gas into the engine, decreasing fuel efficiency.

Thought you would get a giggle outta this one.
your right Barry people don;t even know what a m$#%&!@* air flow sensior is or where it’s located
See Christopher C$#%&!@*ady
Good tip!
Taking a screwdriver to you MAF sensor is a good way to screw yourself out of several hundred dollars.
I’m with this guy ^ I’ve been an auto tech for ten years. 9 out of 10 times you will distroy your maf if you try to use a screwdriver
Zbigniew
Mitchell Evans and Matthew St. Denis if you actually watched the video (or paused to think for a second) you would see that they use the screwdriver for, *gasp* GETTING THE $#%&!@*ING HOSE CLAMPS OFF THE MAF TO CLEAN IT USING MAF SENSOR CLEANER.
I guess you don’t have to ve very bright to be an auto tech. *rolls eyes*

Make sure that cleaner has completely evaporated before reinstallation though. Having those wires glowing red got with solvent sitting on them Will not do the sensor any good.
Not all MAF sensors work this way either, but being careful and gentle with a several hundred dollar sensor is always a good idea.
Alexander David Kammann Thank you for your expertise….in bad manners.
If you damage it you will spend $150 on a new one!
Don’t do it you will get a check engine light. Buy a aftermarket one. Or a didn’t car if you want to improve mpg
Make sure no residue is left when cleaning and don’t touch with you hands. Oil residue can cause bad readings negating anything you wished to achieve
Hahahah ima be sellin the sh*t out of these!
An eight year old could so it.
Is this Mark from lagrange auto? If so, I respect the opinion.

Don’t do this… These sensors are more money than you want to spend when you clog it, break the wire or generally screw it up. Take your car to a professional.
For those that want better gas mileage, raise your right foot
I hope you did this to your MAf Your mechanic baby needs a new pair of shoes.
Mechanic’s love DIY’ers They are a stable source of income.
Use to have to do this on the Mustang
What If I just unplug it?
Looks easy enough to diy
alex just fyi. doing this will not raise you fuel economy to a noticeable level and it risks destroying a MAF sensor. a better way to raise fuel economy is to use cruise control when you are able to, keep your maintenance up to date and your tires correctly inflated. Using any cleaner on a MAF is a bad idea not only for contamination risk but for a explosion risk. Also resetting the KAM in the pcm and tcm can be useful as it clears the learned fuel trims and shift tables. As far as your comment about not having to be smart to be a auto technician, i bet you can not fix your own car unless you are a tech in which case your just an $#%&!@*hole! my qualifications as a tech include Master ASE, L1, T2, T6, a $#%&!@*ociated Degree in Auto/Marine Applied science as well as being a Ford Senior Master Tech.
MAF cleaner….lmfao more like bad MAF sensor verification in a can. I bet more than 1 DIY’er bought a can of cry brake clean and blew the mad apart.
Good idea, might as well change the air filter while your at it
The cruise control is not a good idea especially on hilly roads . Use only on level as possible or interstate highways. Hilly turraine causes the engine ,by the transmission to throttle up to keep speed when in hilly highway opperation!!
Tom Rogers Steven Croft You know, I’ve heard from some “internet mechanics” that using maf cleaner spray on your maf will destroy it, but i’ve never heard of ANYBODY actually using maf cleaner and having it render their maf nonfunctional. Now, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t heard of people breaking maf’s while cleaning them, but usually they try and use something to scrape on the filaments, which will almost $#%&!@*uredly break them. I’ve had to clean mine a number of times due to a poor design on my car that condenses oil from the crankcase vent in the intake system, coating the (stock) supercharger, intercooler, piping , maf and the intake manifold. Also, my smart mechanic comment was obvoiously facetious. As to not being able to fix my own car, for the 3 years with my current car the only time it’s NOT been fixed by me was when it needed body work. I’ve yet to find anything I couldn’t fix with some research and general wrench skills. I’ve replaced head gaskets on both my own car and on friends, done repairs on subarus (another head gasket), VW’s, audi’s, my parents’s benzs and mine as well. I’ve done
transmission (auto) replacements and services, fuel system
diagnostics and repairs, drive train repair, suspension
modification and repair, exhaust repair and modification
including custom exhaust including long tube headers all the way to the $#%&!@*ler tips. Currently in the midst of a custom brake
upgrade to brembo brakes on my car. The only parts of cars I
don’t have any experience in are the inner workings of the lower
block and the valves ect in the head. I also do HVAC
installation and repair (consumer, automotive and commercial),
appliance repair, welding, fabrication, plumbing and electrical,
garage door repair, water heaters, the list goes on. Unlike some, I like to base my opinions on personal experience when i can, not from rote memorization of something I was told in a lecture. Sometimes the book is wrong. Training is all well and good, but discounting the combined experiential knowledge of the automotive community, because some training course said that the only way to “fix” a maf is to replace it, well that’s pretty stupid.
Computers and cars, don’t go together.. 90% of car break downs are computer problems…
i do it every 10k miles, never had an issue. 96 explorer 152k miles
possible virus
be real real careful, it’s easy to break those if you have the wire sensor.
good video and comments
