As the creator of the video said, installing a water shut-off valve is easy — too easy, in fact. For those who don’t know what a shut-off valve is, it is a plumbing fixture that controls the water supply — usually going to and from your toilet, sink, washing machine, dishwasher, and any other appliance that uses water.
The tools you need are an adjustable wrench, a pipe wrench, and tubing cutters. You can get through this project by just using an adjustable wrench but expect that it will make the task difficult. Also, if the shut-off valve is welded or soldered into the water pipes, you will definitely need a tube cutter.
The uninstallation and installation will depend on the type of shut-off valve that you will work on. The easiest to remove and replace is a shut-off valve with a compression fitting. All you need to do is to loosen up the compression nut.
