In this DIY project, we will talk about how to make a simple charcoal chimney starter. The first thing you have to have is a big tin can. With your can, you want to go about a quarter of the way up the can and draw a line across it. This is where you’ll be drilling two holes to put the grate in.
This can be made out of a couple straightened out metal coat hangers. After you drill holes that are spaced evenly apart you slide the cut hanger pieces into the holes to build a grate. Once this is done you can cut the bottom off of the can while leaving a couple lips. This is to wrap newspaper underneath the grate to light the charcoal.
Enjoy your new charcoal chimney starter!
