Build This Awesome PVC Pipe Raft – Easy and Straightforward.

Having fun at the lake to relax and de-stress need not be expensive — you can create your own raft using PVC pipe. It is a cheaper substitute for rafts available on the market. The steps are also straightforward because all you need to do is to connect the pipes with water-tight caps and fittings.

The materials you need for this DIY project are PVC Pipes, hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, glue, boards and caulking gun with caulk.

You need to make sure that you do not apply too much force or weight as it will cause the raft to break.  When using screws for building a PVC raft, be sure to check the pipe for any leaks as the seals may eventually wear out.

What a dufus. He didn’t take into consideration how much weight the “raft” would have to bear.
The one shown might work for a 100 lb. kid, but not an adult.
Also, he didn’t allow for tipping side-to-side, and should have had outriggers.

You could probably buy a kayak at Walmart for what that would cost in pipe and fittings

Thought it was interesting, but would include two or three 15 Gallon barrels in the center
