Growing tomatoes and other vegetables can be a difficult task. But thanks to this DIY self-watering planter, it was made a lot easier.

To start this inexpensive project, you will need the following items: drill, knife, hose cutter, 7/8th hole saw, and drill bits.

In addition, also prepare some zip ties, 4 inch net pot, 3, 5, or 7 gallon container with lid, 90 degree ½ inch pressure fit irrigation connector, ½ inch rubber eyelet, ½ inch internal diameter clear hose, a sharpie, and a garbage bag. You will also need the seedling of your chosen vegetable, fertilizer, peat moss, compost, and perlite.
